Bio
Dr. Star Jackson is a highly accomplished, long-time educator and award winning author. Her love of academia stems from her childhood. She was always an avid book reader and developed an affinity for literature and creative writing.
Jackson's professional experience spans over 15 years within the educational sector. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in History and Master’s in Education from Arizona State University. With a continued deep commitment to learning and professional growth, she also earned a Doctorate degree from The University of Southern Mississippi.
She is currently an educator as her passion in life is working with the youth and advocating for marginalized groups in society. Jackson obtained a certification in Applied Prevention Science and has worked closely with The Princeton Review to advance strategic developments within the literary field of K-12 education.
Jackson also serves as the Vice President of Education & Community with Postseason, an athlete empowerment platform.

Passion for Literacy Initiative
The Passion for Literacy Initiative is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to amplify student voices through literacy. Our program is the first of its kind that supports students in filling the literacy gaps while also enabling entrepreneurship. By galvanizing the abilities to achieve great success in and out of the classroom, we aim to solve the challenges that students face within literary disparities. To change the course of action, it is imperative that students see themselves in their books, thus we encourage and support students in writing the stories that they have an interest in reading.
